Process Continued...The program is a turnkey program with all of the resources necessary to conduct a donor awareness program within a Rotary District or individual club and then to expand into the local community with Rotary in a leadership role. An 8 minute video is available in the program, promoting organ and tissue donation. In addition, there is a scripted presentation, resource materials for background information, and donor registration materials to register members. These are the steps you need to take: First, take about two minutes to complete a Donor Registration Form and send it in. Next, talk to your family, especially your next of kin, about your wishes to be an organ and tissue donor and ask them to register as well. Then, when you receive your welcome packet, fill out the donor card that is included and carry it with you at all times in a prominent place in your purse or wallet. After that, make this a club project to do as Rotary Clubs in other areas of the country have done and sign up Rotarians and their families. Two, organize special donor activities. This may include going to health fairs and businesses to promote donation and the donor registry. Then, support the program in the club budget. Donations can be made to The Living Bank and designated for use in the Share Your Life - Give of Yourself! Program. |
